They are all trained by Calvern Care trainers to a high standard and are fully experienced in the field of caring. Prior to working with service users they all receive and participate in mandatory  training which includes induction training, general health & safety training, moving and handling of people and medication management.  They are polite, approachable and professional. Our staff turnover is low and the majority of our care workers have been with us for between 4 and 10 years. Our care workers wear tunics with the Calvern Care name embroidered on, they also carry identification badges with their name  and photograph on and also our telephone number in case clarification is required. Continuing training and development is considered a high priority for all employees of Calvern Care and everyone gets involved including the directors. All staff undergo training and refresher training in the following areas; • Re-ablement • Medication • Health and Safety • Food hygiene • Continence • Infection control • Parkinson’s disease awareness • Dementia awareness • The Mental Capacity Act 80% of our care workers have either completed or are currently working to achieve NVQ Level  2 in health & social care (now Quality Credit Framework diploma in Health & Social Care).
